Fit this!

What up sisters? Thought I would try to contribute something to my long lost support group. School is back in session and I jumped right back into my early morning workouts. Except they are a little earlier. Elyse goes to seminary now so I have to be home by 6:30. Our YMCA membership was on hold during the summer and still is so all I’m doing is walking. I even ran 2 blocks last week and felt great! I am very strict on my eating and having some great results! WE HATE CARBS! I am a tea drinker now too! (Sara?) I’m looking forward to a great year in weight loss and workouts, but more importantly, I’m looking forward to a KILLER sister’s retreat! Can’t wait! See you soon!

I might be crazy…

I have officially signed up for the 2010 Duck Bill Thrill olympic triathlon.  Gulp.

It is on May 23rd at Fall Creek Lake.  I am registered as an “Athena” (large female competitor).  Those skinny fast people better watch out.  I’m pretty sure I will finish dead last, but it is the finish part that I am after.

Is anyone alive out there!? It’s been awfully quiet! Maybe Facebook took over our conversations! 2010 is going to be a great year! I am still working out hard at the gym with my new partner. She pushes me hard and I appriciate it a lot! We anticipate that in a month we will have to bump up our intensity and go even harder! I am very happy at the gym. I even manage to run 3 miles twice a week. That’s where running and I are comfortable. My sis-in-law Mary posted this quote on her facebook and I loved it so much that I wanted to share it! Thanks Mary!

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.”

Go Hard! Can’t wait for the retreat! Needed it yesterday!

Size Sara

Oh boy.  I just spent a ton of money on nice size Sara jeans

No cheap target jeans to hold me over till I loose more weight…..just size Sara.

The guy helping me in the store had his work cut out for him to find size Sara, but we found it!

I am working the bootie ladies….and I kinda like it.

This was a HUGE step for me.

I’m Gonna PUMP~You Up!!

So we have 7 weeks till we leave for AZ for Christmas and James is determined to have both of us lose 40 lbs each! (I love his high reaching goals!) So he made up this serious work out and eating plan for us to follow. I am required to do 30 min. of hard cardio each day followed by some serious weights! He has me doing 4 sets of 12-15 reps. That’s a lot! It really pushes me but I told James that if I start growing pecks and get a low voice I’m gonna quit! I also started my Weigh To Go class where we weigh in at the church every Tuesday and follow a point system for our weekly goals. I’m finally motivated and hope to build on it. As for 40 lbs by Christmas?-not too sure about that but I’ll try my hardest! Is any one running the Turkey Trot in Springfield this year? Thinking about it! Love you all!

sugar and chicken soup

**long post**

Hi. My name is Rachel and I’m a sugar addict. Yeah, I know by looking at me it doesn’t take Einstein to figure that out, but I’ve finally decided to just own up to it. After really taking a look at my eating habits, I realize that I have used sweet treats/carbs to cope with fatigue for many years. I’ve tried eating those things in moderation, counting the points, etc… but seriously, that’s a joke. Especially when you’re an addict and a narcoleptic. So I’m on my fourth day of no sweets and on the first phase of a serious detox. Now I’m not excluding all sugar – like the small amounts in my cereal, yogurt and other foods, I’m just talking about treats: ice cream, cookies, cakes, candy, chocolate. It’s really pathetic how difficult it is and how strong the cravings are at different times of the day. So I’m just trying to pay attention to my body and figure out what I really need. Eventually, some day, when I feel more in control I’ll add those things back and see how it goes. And I really want carrot cake for my birthday.

Now on to the chicken soup. As most of you know, I’ve been going to a naturopathic doctor for helping me with all my stupid health problems. I truly feel like this is the direction I need to take and my naturopathic doc is fabulous. I love her approach. She has had me get lots of blood tests done and other tests to figure out what is going on and get my body balanced and of course, to lose weight. After talking about the idea of a cleanse to begin eating differently, I asked her for two weeks to just get myself mentally and emotionally prepared. So today my doc gave me a plan for a chicken soup cleanse. I know, that can sound wacky. But seriously, for a cleanse, it’s a good plan. Then after 5 days of that I will slowly add back in foods, paying particular attention to those I may have allergies to – milk, gluten (wheat and such) and eggs. Yeah, just when we start eating our delicious home grown eggs, my blood tests show a significant allergy to them. Oh well.

I think I’ll be starting the cleanse on Monday, so I’ll keep you all updated on how things are going. Yeah, this is going to be hard, but I’m actually at a good place emotionally and spiritually to really relearn how to take care of myself. And I may be calling you sisters for some support! I’m going to need it.

Customer review on the Back Smoothing Bra

I told you I wanted it and I went out and bought it. $40 for the new science in support. When I heard the words “make you look thinner” I jumped at the thought that $40 would make me look skinny. (SUCKER) So I wore it Sunday to church and as I was getting out of the car to go inside, I asked my husband if I looked like I had $40 boobs. That was totally inappropriate to ask before church but it slipped. And I won’t share his response. As for the product results, I felt great in my new bra, but unfortunatly I didn’t look 20lbs lighter. It did smooth out my back but I have the creeping bra syndrome. It might be because of my G’s but my bra keeps sneaking north. The cup area was great and didn’t give me the granny boob. And no Sara, it didn’t have 8 clasps in the back. I really like the bra but it wasn’t the cure all for back fat. Just have to keep up with the weights and diet. I give the Bra a B+. (if you know what I mean)

Welcome Back, Once Again!

I went to the YMCA today and was welcomed by the scents, machines, and regular attendees. I haven’t been to the Y since I started running in January. I love the gym more that running. It makes me happy and I don’t leave crying. (Although I have done that before) I am happy to be back and I hope I can tone up the muscle I neglected in the last 9 months. Wish me luck and I’m sure I’ll have some funnies to write about!
