CHALLENGE EDITOR?

Rachel, did you decide this? I’m the least likely person to challenge anyone, i barely challenge myself. Although I think Ann did an incredible job with this and there is no way I can fill her shoes, I will accept this job!!!

I found it very interesting that the first blog I saw today was about 5k runs/walks. I decided this past weekend that I was going to start training to RUN a 5k. Now, since none of you know me except Rachel, let me just tell you: The farthest I’ve run was when I was 5 and I chased down the icecream truck. I don’t know what has possessed me. I do know that Heavenly Father has been putting people in my life that are real motivators. And this includes all of you. I can’t believe how committed you all are in the realm of exercise.

So my challenge to each of you is to pick a 5K, 10K or whatever would be best for you and work towards accomplishing it. I personally have chose the Eugene Turkey Stuffer, which is on Thanksgiving day. We are spending the holiday with Chris’ family this year so we will be in Eugene for the day. It’s at 8:30 in the morning and then we can go home and eat. If anyone else will be in Eugene for the holiday I would love it if we could get a group together. Choose a run/walk that is before Christmas and your goal is to report by Christmas time. Good luck.

Yeah Darilyn! I will be at the Turkey Stuffer also and will be sure to cheer you on! It is a huge step to take as I did almost 6 years ago. But definately rewarding in more ways than 1. I am so excited to accept your first challenge to us. I am going to run a 10k in about 4 week called the Stage Coach Run. It is a beautiful run on the back roads to Jacksonville with several ups and downs to challenge along the way. This was my first 10k that I ran 3 years ago. I am going back to set a 10k personal best this time. Which means that I’ll have to work extra hard because I have been slacking a little this summer. Also, if you need some beginner training tips please don’t hesitate to ask. Good luck my fellow sister!
