I was at work yesterday helping a client. She asked when my baby was due and I told her the first part of March. She gasped and said “My….you must have big babies”. I looked at her and bluntly said “no, i’m just a large gal”. She could tell I was a bit frazzled by her comment (probably from my red face) and tried to back track her words….it didn’t work….in fact, she just made me feel worse. I wanted to cry.
This comment comes after my last doctor’s visit where I gained 10 lbs in five weeks and had “the talk” with my doctor….so this could very well have been the icing on the cake. But still, some people should fake a nice comment.
Needless to say, I am looking and feeling very pregnant and I have a good three months to go….
sympathy please? =)
Do you have this lady’s address? I’d like to give her a comment or two about her body in the form of my fist. Okay, okay, I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt that she just wasn’t thinking…plus, she’ll most likely feel awful about what she said anyway.
Sara, you are a beautiful pregnant woman. You are providing a healthy, drug-free, miraculous environment for your baby. Be proud of that.
yeah, I’m with Rachel on that…. forget that ladies comment and listen to our posative, honest opinions. If she wants to see a large pregnant woman then I’ll send her a few pictures of myself and thousands of other women who aren’t blessed with skinny bodies, but large healthy bodies. In fact, you are truly LUCKY to be able to concieve. There are a lot of greiving women that are spending thousands of dollars to concieve and here we are complaining about our bodies. Nonsense. You truly are a beautiful woman. Be proud of yourself and know that we love you. Sorry about that… it went a little over-board.

It was only a few weeks ago that I saw you on Thanksgiving day. You looked gorgeous then. You seem so fit. I was so impressed that you were pregnant and ran that thing. Be truly proud of how you look. I thought you looked great!

I am retired! So hatever weekend works for everyone else will be fine withme.
I probably have all these responses in the wrong place. But about the comment the lady made, I will take her on. I am bigger than her and she better not mess with any of my family. You look great.
And after all of the other “fit sisters” beat her up, she’ll have me to deal with last. Watch out!!!
