I take back everything I ever preached to you about buying good cloths that last long and make you feel good. Seriously. Way back when, I was all about buying good quality cloths…paying a higher price for better fabrics and styles and taking time to find outfits and good buys. I realized that this concept does not apply to mothers. It seems impossible to first of all take kids shopping (I have like 5 minutes max to look and purchase), secondly, come up with money to buy anything under $10, thirdly, spend money on an outfit that may or may-not fit in a year, and lastly, find a store that makes clothing in my size.
I am now a Target/Freddies/Wal-mart/Costco lover. Any store that has a grocery cart available and self-checkout stations is great! I have been purchasing low-budget cloths that won’t last more than three months max that make me feel fatter that I already feel. I have developed this terrible habit of going straight to the clearance racks too. Will I ever be able to purchase at full price again?
I am at mom’s (Sullivan) this weekend watching Liz and I have watched a few good episodes of What Not To Wear and it has put me in this mood.
Post pregnancy stuff can be a real drag at times. =) Someday I will get up enough nerve to spill my guts about the weight issue….Stay tuned.
Cheers to my $2 flip flops and stretch pants!
P.S. Joe & Sid…if you are reading this…GET A LIFE (or send me money for my better cloths fund)
kidding.
BRING IT! Welcome to motherhood. The good quality clothes thing is a great idea, but sometimes the reality is that quality isn’t always affordable or practical. Stains and rips and playground wear-and-tear isn’t great on a $45 Ralph Lauren polo. We all have to find what works. And yeah, pregnancy and nursing screws all that stuff up anyways. Buy anything that makes you feel good!
I’m with ya
Love ya,
Reb
How’d you know I was reading this? I mean Tina was reading it and I happened to be in the room and glanced over her shoulder…..
I am still waiting for the chance to be a part of this FitSisters blog. Even though I am a brother and a person of the other gender I still have my share of health/weight/old age problems. Sure I may not be able to wear boy shorts or benefit much from the bra buying advice but I could use some info on thongs! My thongs just do not seem to fit that well! Till that time I will continue to lurk in the shadows catching what I can whenever Tina is looking at Fitsisters.
Joe (or would Josephina be more approp.?)
You SKANK Josephina. I can’t believe you are trying to weasel your way into our secret lives. That’s why I will NEVER reveal my true weight. Why don’t you start a FitBrothers sight? HUMMMM……….Get a Life!
Your favorite sister,
Rebecca
SKANK?! I actually am trying to be of an assistance here unlike the other brother.
Just make up your weight then when you lose 5 pounds we know you will be 155 instead of 160. We would still be happy for you and rejoice in your accomplishment without knowing your weight. Let me start with my chubby weight as of today was 204.5lbs. See, that was hard but I got it off my chest (actually it is all on my stomach and bubble bum).
FitBrother? Are you kidding me! With Sid as your brother I might as well call it Iwillalwaysbethefatone.com! I do not think that him talking about his six pack or running 30 miles for a ride and tie would motivate me to do much!
I do have weight issues and concerns just like the rest of you. I may need a place to express/share those. I guess it will have to be somewhere else.
Joe
AWE, now you are making me feel bad. I guess you are the sensitive brother and that’s a good thing. And if you thought announcing you weight was suposed to make us feel good, you’re wrong. It just depressed me even more. I do get a kick out of your sense of humor but you would have to get permission from the cheif of staff Rachel B. to actually be able to post. Sorry I was so harsh but it’s a little weird having your brother read about bras and undies and crotch sweat while working out. Enter if you DARE!
Love ya bro!
Reb
Joe – We love you! I am laughing so hard about the Iwillalwaysbethefatone.com. Love the humor.
I will second Rebecca’s vote to have you blog on FitSisters. As the fashion editor, I will even look around for the latest fashion on jock straps….They must have a variety of colors by now.
We Love you JOE!
sara
Yeah, umm, nice try trying to get these sympathy votes, JOE, but as the executive administrator of this blog, I will NOT be inviting you to be a contributor. It’s about as likely as me passing the sacrament. There’s a reason it’s called FitSisters, Josephina. And I have to second Rebecca’s comment about it being a bit weird having our brother reading our discussions about thongs and sports bras. That’s just weird. Yes, you can comment still if you please, but if you continue with the harassment, I may have to take some serious action.
Now before you think I have no heart at all, I know that Josh has found a few men’s health blogs that he would probably be willing to share with you so you can get the support you need and stop your whining!!
hehehehehe!
Hmmmm! I wonder who the most pregnant one is?
Your brother “reading our discussions about thongs and sports bras” ? Why is it that I can google FitSisters and it comes up for the world to read and see? And you were worried that I was a lone soul reading about the matters of your heart. Sorry to burst your bubble but even Dad could find out these things. Hmmmm, that’s an idea. “Dad, come look what my sisters are doing!”
Before all of you get your panties (or boy shorts) in a bunch be rest assured that I will not be apart of FitSisters.com out of respect to each of you. I realize your intention was to create a blog in which you could communicate regarding your weighty issues at hand. I would not want to nor do I desire to disrupt this blog even I could do it in the form of Josephina. So good luck in your endeavors but be warned that I still will read it from time to time, not to criticize or make fun, but to see if I can glean from your thoughts and regain hope in MY battle of weighty issues in my life.
Joe
Oh, just to help you out Sara here is my fashion input:
