Okay, if you are like me you have about a hundred different health and diet books. I have them from every phase of my life and gee, hmmm, I have fluctuated with the same weight for about 7 years (not counting pregnancies). BUT! I found a great new book that is not like any of the others and certainly does not make me feel stressed out over following too many guidelines, nor makes me rush to the store to buy all NEW food in order to follow this plan. Infact it’s not a plan at all, it’s a book full of plain old TIPS! It’s got 365 tips that you can apply all at once or take one day at a time throughout the year. There are recipes, tips on healthy snacks, quick exercises, how to stop cravings, and lots of motivational love yourself stuff. The thing I love about this book is that it was written by an LDS nutritionist and fitness expert who is also a Mom of three young kids. So…she gets it! And she also reminds us of what a special and important gift our bodies are from our Heavenly Father. And discusses how Satan can get a hold of us and make us hate our bodies or abuse it by overeating and entice us with unhealthy junk food. Anyway, I love this book, it has really REALLY helped me in my latest weight loss endeavor which, for me, has not been a diet, but a new way of life. I am determined to become healthy and fit. I had a bit of a small potential cancer scare a couple weeks ago (don’t worry, I’m fine!) and feel very strongly about eating the kinds of foods that will help keep me healthy. I know there are lots of things I can’t control in my life, but I can try really hard and do my best. That being said, I have to say that I have only lost 3 pounds….and that like totally stinks, and that is because I have a severe emotional overeating problem which I am trying desperately to overcome. Exercise is not the problem for me, it’s stress eating… But I wanted to share this book with you because it has really motivated me in the last few days. Here is the link, I believe you can only get it through Deseret Book:
