Diet Soda

I think I might be falling in love with diet soda. It is a new discovery for me and I am not sure if its a good or bad thing.  A tasty zero calorie drink.  What could it hurt?

My excuse:

The worst time of day for me with my eating is between lunch and dinner.  I have tried a few different tricks to stop the overeating (100 cal. packs, sugar free coco, water, etc.) but haven’t been successful.  A few weeks ago Clint went out to get a movie and snacks and I asked him to get me a diet soda…rather than a frosty.  I drank it and felt satisfied.  I was a bit belchy, but whatever.=)

Since then I have had a handful of diet soda’s.  Mostly sipping on one between the lunch and dinner time and it has really helped!  Should I stop now before I have an all-out addiction?  Before my teeth rot out of my mouth? (not like that hasn’t already happened =))

You might as well practice your 12-step-program introduction: “Hi, my name is Sara. I’m a diet soda addict.” just kidding. I personally like a diet soda every so often. One time I made the mistake of buying a 24-pack of Diet Coke on sale and so I wanted one all the time. So, I try to keep it to a minimum lest I become an addict. Maybe Joe and Tina have some insight into this! =)

I don’t know, this is a toughie. I guess if it were me and the diet soda was truly helping me not nibble and snack then I would say go for it. One a day? Are you drinking caffeine, non-caffeine? I would try and go for the non-caffeine, low sodium ones and then go for it, especially if you feel it helps.
